Vector vs Raster

Vector

Vector is an image that can be resized without loss of quality/resolution because it is made up of points in space that can be edited to change the image. Generally used for big images, stickers, printing etc. Ideal for images that might be used in various sizes and dimensions.

Raster

Raster is an image that changes the size of the pixels to enlarge the image but this will cause loss of quality/resolution and can cause a pixelated image. Generally used for graphics, websites, things on television etc. Ideal for when an image will only be used once, and will never need to be enlarged.
